Lockdown Lowdown with Lisa
How are you supporting families during this lockdown? We are still taking referrals and matching families with volunteers who are offering remote support by telephone and zoom. As a family support coordinator, I am checking in with every family and volunteer on my caseload on a weekly basis to ensure that they are coping mentally and physically with enough food, power and entertainment activities/strategies. I am also available for crisis support if required.
What’s your average day like during lockdown? Keeping in touch with my families, volunteers, the Home-Start team and other services, and recording every movement!!
What advice would you give families during this time? I advise my families and volunteers to sit tight, stay strong, keep safe, ride the storm and hopefully we will be out the other side soon.
What’s your best lockdown tip? BE PATIENT!!! Make the most of it as we will be back to 100mph before we know it!
If you had to pick a lockdown partner who would it be (and why)? Elvis (THE KING) of course! “He isn’t dead, because I heard him on the radio”
