National Volunteer Week
Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration of the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering. Although the Coronavirus pandemic has stopped many of the things we would usually do we still want to celebrate our amazing volunteers.
Volunteers are a massive part of what we do at Home-Start, the support they give families really makes a positive impact. For National Volunteer Week we’ll focus on a few of volunteers, giving an insight into what they do and the difference they make.
Our Volunteers all go through a 7-week training course (1 day a week for 3 hours). The Course covers subjects such as Listening Skills, Values & Attitudes, Confidentiality, Domestic Abuse and Child Protection. The Course is accredited through West Lothian College and offers 5 credits at SCQF Level 5.
So across this week we’ll highlight just some of the amazing volunteers we have at Home-Start West Lothian and say THANK YOU for the support they give.
